Gazette No. 54 — Notice of Predecessor Secretary-General — Arnold R. Douglas (2007–2014)
Category: Executive Government
Status: Perfected
Be it known and placed on record: That the tenure of Arnold R. Douglas as predecessor Secretary-General of the institution that has evolved into the Mohawk Nation of Grand River Secretariat (approximately 2007–2014) is hereby retrospectively recorded under Rule 11 of the Rules of the Register, establishing the institutional continuity of the Secretariat’s constitutional programme prior to the tenure of the current Secretary-General, Benjamin Doolittle UE.
The institutional history of the Secretariat predates the formal registration of the Register of the Nation on 28 March 2026. The constitutional programme — the assertion of the Haldimand covenant, the filing of Notices of Interest, and the engagement of the Crown — has been pursued by successive holders of the Secretary-General role. This retrospective entry establishes that the Secretariat is not a new institution but a continuation of an ongoing constitutional effort.
