Gazette No. 35 — Representation to His Majesty the King

Be it known and placed on record: That formal Representation is hereby made to His Majesty King Charles III, transmitting the constitutional programme of the Mohawk Nation of Grand River Secretariat and requesting that His Majesty direct the appropriate ministers to engage substantively with the Secretariat’s constitutional demands.
I. The Transmission
The Representation to His Majesty was transmitted by registered mail RN738082595CA on 9 April 2026. The Representation sets out: the Haldimand covenant of 1784; the five-instrument constitutional chain; the administrative gap confirmed by Director Petoran; the AG Demand and the Crown’s non-substantive response; and the pending Application for Writ of Mandamus.
II. The Magna Carta Connection
His Majesty addressed a joint session of the United States Congress on 28 April 2026 and invoked Magna Carta and the principle that executive power is subject to checks and balances — that “no man is above the law, not even a king.” The Secretary-General’s representation to His Majesty notes that this principle is precisely applicable to Director Petoran’s refusal to record the Haldimand interest. A Director who refuses to perform a constitutional obligation is exercising unchecked executive power of exactly the kind that Magna Carta constrains.
