Gazette No. 20 — Birth and Heritage Registry
Category: Justice Services
Status: Perfected
Be it known and placed on record: That the Birth and Heritage Registry of the Mohawk Nation of Grand River Secretariat is hereby established under the MNBH code series, to record births within the Haldimand Beneficiary Class, heritage claims, and lineage documentation.
The Birth and Heritage Registry is the authoritative record of births and heritage claims within the Secretariat’s institutional framework. Registry entries issued under this series constitute prima facie evidence of the registrant’s standing within the Haldimand Beneficiary Class for institutional purposes.
All entries in the Birth and Heritage Registry are cross-referenced to the Membership and Lineage Registry (G21) and the Citizenship Determination Rules (G19). A determination of citizenship requires concurrence of the Registrar General and the Attorney General; a registry entry does not by itself constitute such determination, but constitutes the evidentiary basis for one.
