Gazette No. 44 — Mohawk National Vehicle Registry Initiative (NVR)

Be it known and placed on record: That the Mohawk National Vehicle Registry Initiative (NVR) is hereby established, giving the Secretariat the institutional authority to issue vehicle registrations, driver credentials, and NVR plates to vehicles operating under Secretariat jurisdiction within the Mohawk Acquired Territory.

I. Gazette No. 44 Authority

All NVR plates issued by the Secretariat carry the authority of this Gazette — Gazette No. 44. The plate endorsement sticker on the back of each NVR vehicle references this Gazette as the issuing authority.

II. The Seized Plates — Occurrence BR26009288

Plates G00-032 and G00-026 were seized by Constable McManus #457 of the Brantford Police Service in Occurrence No. BR26009288. Formal demand letters were sent to Chief Saunders and the BPS Board. Criminal Code section 122 (Breach of Trust by a Public Officer) is the applicable ground: a public officer who seizes property that is not subject to seizure under the authority they possess is in breach of their trust.

III. The Redesigned Plate System

The redesigned NVR plate carries: a six-digit registration number on the front face (navy background, gold border elements, “Mohawk Nation of Grand River” header, “Under Operation of the Haldimand Proclamation” banner); and a full Three-Block NVR reference endorsement sticker on the back (VEH001-[DDMMYY]-[NNNNNN], Gazette No. 44 authority, Haldimand Proclamation 1784 reference, QR code placeholder). The “Mohawk University” designation has been retired.
